Hyderabad:
Police officials have stated that ongoing personal disputes and domestic issues compelled movie piracy accused Immadi Ravi to return to India, a development that ultimately facilitated his arrest.
According to investigators, Ravi’s wife had been urging him to stop his alleged illegal activities. Police sources said she reported incidents of harassment and eventually filed for divorce due to his suspected involvement in fraudulent practices. Officials added that tensions within the family, along with circumstances that forced Ravi to come back to India, were key factors in the case.
During questioning, Ravi’s wife informed the police that he had been paying an individual named Nikhil ₹50,000 per month for designing advertisements. She also claimed that Ravi had a history of fraudulent behavior and had previously carried out multiple offences in Visakhapatnam using the ID cards of friends.
Police sources further disclosed that in his confession, Ravi admitted to mistreating his wife when she opposed his activities. He also confirmed hiring Nikhil for poster design work and revealed that he had placed betting bids on the iBomma website, earning approximately $50,000 for every one lakh views.
Investigators continue to examine the financial and digital trail linked to Ravi’s activities as part of the ongoing probe.
